Gómez Palacio authorities rescue child found hiding in closet

Authorities in Gómez Palacio, Durango, rescued a five-year-old boy who was found hiding inside a closet among clothing in a residence in the Centro neighborhood. The rescue followed an anonymous report to the 911 Emergency System regarding a minor in a potentially irregular situation.

Police officers from the Municipal Police and the Unidad Violeta searched the upper level of the home and located the child, who appeared visibly frightened. Two individuals, 38-year-old Eduardo Inyoll “N” and 73-year-old Marta Estela “N”, were detained at the scene as they could not prove any familial relationship to the boy. They face suspected charges of child abduction.

During the intervention, two other children, aged 2 and 9, were also located and placed under protection. The siblings have been transferred to the care of the Integral Family Development (DIF) agency to receive psychological attention. Authorities have since located the boy's mother, and the Procuraduría de Protección de Niñas, Niños y Adolescentes is investigating the circumstances of how the children arrived at the residence.
