Gümüşhane commemorates July 15 martyrs with memorial program

In Gümüşhane, Turkey, the 63rd ‘253 Hatim’ program was held at the Kemaliye Mosque to commemorate the martyrs of the July 15 coup attempt and those who lost their lives defending the nation.

The event, organized by the July 15 Association, included prayers for the 253 citizens who died during the 2016 coup attempt. Attendees included Association President İsmail Hakkı Turunç, former Gümüşhane Deputy Hacı Osman Akgül, veterans, relatives of martyrs, and local citizens.

During the ceremony, İsmail Hakkı Turunç emphasized the importance of preserving the ‘July 15 spirit’ for future generations. Veterans present, including Yaşar Parlak and Yusuf Pezük, shared personal reflections on the events of that night and the enduring patriotism of the local community.
