Gümüşhane's Santa Ruins Host 62‑Person Nature Walk

The Gümüşhane Dağcılık, Doğa Sporları Gençlik ve Spor Kulübü Derneği (GÜDAK) organized a “Kayıp Santa Yolu” hike in the historic Santa Ruins. Sixty‑two nature enthusiasts, including Deputy Governor Muhammed Deniz Kılınç, walked a roughly 15 km trail that combined stone‑paved paths, historic bridges, forested slopes and fields of zifin flowers.

Participants described the route as an open‑air museum, noting the blend of natural scenery—yellow, white and purple forest roses—and cultural landmarks such as the Ayene bridge and the Gofi and Cirip plateaus. Academic Aleyna Gün highlighted the area's tourism potential while urging preservation and limited development.

The event underscored the region’s rich natural and archaeological heritage and called for sustainable tourism that protects the landscape.
