Bogumiła Olbryś calls for increased school safety in Poland

Polish MP Bogumiła Olbryś has called for urgent action to improve school safety following recent violent incidents in Ostrołęka and near Wyszków. Speaking in the Sejm, Olbryś emphasized that protecting students and staff must be a top priority to prevent further tragedies.

In Ostrołęka, a 19-year-old student attacked several people with a knife, resulting in nine injuries, including five students and two teachers. Additionally, a fatal incident occurred near Wyszków, where a 15-year-old former student killed a 37-year-old school employee. Olbryś advocated for better school security, faster response to threats, and increased cooperation between school administrations, parents, and law enforcement.

In a separate effort to bolster community resilience, local initiatives are providing free safety training. In Łukęcin, the Koło Gospodyń Wiejskich is organizing workshops on first aid and crisis preparedness. Similarly, in the Wesoła district, residents can participate in free civil protection training sessions focused on practical tools for emergency situations.
