GMK introduces TriggerKey adjustable mechanical key system
GMK has introduced the TriggerKey, a specialized mechanical key system designed to provide adjustable actuation and tilt control. Unlike standard mechanical switches that rely on vertical movement, the TriggerKey utilizes a patented lever-based mechanism that allows users to fine-tune the actuation point within a range of 0-2mm.
The system also enables users to adjust the tilt angle of each keycap between 0-34 degrees, which is intended to promote a more natural hand position and reduce strain during extended use. The kit is designed to snap directly onto compatible MX-style switch housings, such as Cherry and Gateron, supporting both north- and south-facing orientations. However, it is noted to be incompatible with most Hall Effect or Kailh Box-style switches.
The TriggerKey bundle is priced at €49 and includes four specialized keycaps—often used to replace WASD or arrow keys—along with assembly accessories. The keycaps are made from doubleshot ABS and feature a stainless steel pivot pin for smooth movement. Users can further customize the feel using three interchangeable stem cap heights: 0.7mm, 1.2mm, and 1.7mm.
