GMKtec EVO-X5 Pro mini PC to support 300B-parameter LLMs

GMKtec has announced the release date for its EVO-X5 Pro mini PC, scheduled for September 28. Unveiled at IFA 2026, the device is positioned as an ‘agentic PC’ designed specifically for local AI applications.

The system is powered by the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 processor, featuring 16 Zen-5 cores and an integrated XDNA-2 NPU capable of delivering up to 55 TOPS. A standout feature is the massive memory capacity, supporting up to 192 GB of LPDDR5X-8533 RAM. This allows for up to 160 GB of unified memory to be dynamically allocated to GPU workloads.

GMKtec claims this high memory bandwidth and capacity enable the device to run large language models (LLMs) with up to 300 billion parameters entirely offline, bypassing the need for cloud computing. The hardware also includes support for up to 24 TB of storage via three PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots, dual 10-Gigabit Ethernet ports, and multiple USB4 interfaces.
