Gmunden revives historic Altstadtfest after 17-year hiatus
The Austrian town of Gmunden is holding its Altstadtfest on Saturday, 12 September 2026, from 17:00 to 24:00, marking the first edition since 2009. The free‑entry event will occupy the market square, Rinnholzplatz and Kirchengasse with live music, a children’s programme and a range of food and drink stalls.
Mayor Stefan Krapf highlighted the festival’s role in revitalising a long‑standing tradition for residents, local clubs and visitors from neighbouring communities, describing it as a “beautiful end‑of‑summer celebration.”
