Gmunden youth athletes secure 16 podiums at Unicycling World Championships

Four youth athletes from the UNO unicycling team of SPORTUNION Gmunden, MUHFIT section, achieved significant success at the Unicycling World Championships. Despite the absence of top Austrian athlete Lea Söser due to injury, the team secured 16 podium finishes among approximately 1,200 participants from 41 nations.

Twelve-year-old Clara Hacker-Dietl led the group with 12 podium placements, including seven first-place finishes in categories such as the 42 km marathon, trial, downhill, and long jump. Miriam Egger secured second place in the U12 trial and two third-place finishes in jumping disciplines. Dominik Böhm earned second place in the 21 km half-marathon and demonstrated versatility in trial, muni, track, and road events. Simon Hollweger also improved his personal bests in track, sprint, and technical disciplines.

The event, UNICON 22, featured intense competition and extreme heat, with an additional 600 enthusiasts participating in workshops and events.
