Ágnes Forsthoffer disputes claims regarding Prime Minister Péter Magyar

Hungarian Parliament Speaker Ágnes Forsthoffer has publicly responded to allegations made by MP Balázs Németh regarding Prime Minister Péter Magyar. Németh released a video claiming the Prime Minister directed and instructed the Speaker during a parliamentary recess. Forsthoffer refuted these claims, stating that the Prime Minister approached the rostrum merely to signal he had a meeting to attend and to inquire about parliamentary rules regarding his return. She characterized Németh’s video as a baseless attempt to discredit her and criticized his political conduct as unethical.

In other political developments, Budapest Mayor Gergely Karácsony discussed the possibility of hosting the 2036 Summer Olympics, suggesting the city should pursue the bid collectively. He also addressed urban issues, including public safety in the city center and the financial stability of the capital. Additionally, Tisza Party MP Judit Petra Kovács issued a public apology after using the term ‘peasant’ toward opposition politicians during a heated parliamentary debate regarding fuel tax amendments.
