Güngören resident seeks help after urban transformation damages home

In the Güngören district of Istanbul, an elderly resident is seeking urgent assistance after urban transformation activities caused structural damage to her home. Gülsüm Özdemir, a 78-year-old woman living alone, reported that the demolition of an adjacent apartment building resulted in cracked walls in her living room and the partial collapse of her balcony.

Özdemir expressed significant fear regarding the building's stability, stating she is afraid of being trapped under rubble in the event of an earthquake. Due to financial constraints, she noted that she is unable to afford rent for a new apartment and her children lack the means to relocate her. She has called upon authorities to inspect the building and take necessary precautions to ensure her safety.
