GNR detains 86 people in Setúbal during weekly operations

The GNR Territorial Command of Setúbal reported 86 arrests and 801 traffic violations during operations conducted between September 7 and 13. The most frequent cause for arrest was driving without a valid license, accounting for 33 cases, followed by 23 arrests for driving under the influence of alcohol or psychotropic substances.

Other arrests included nine individuals for drug trafficking, six for disobedience, two for illegal weapons offenses, and two for domestic violence. During anti-drug operations, authorities seized various quantities of cannabis resin, cocaine, cannabis leaves, and ecstasy pills, along with a firearm, several knives, and 1,145 euros in cash.

Regarding road safety, speeding was the most common violation with 210 recorded instances. Between September 7 and 13, 140 road accidents occurred in the district, resulting in 61 minor injuries, though no fatalities or serious injuries were reported.
