GNTM 7 contestant Stavroula Chalkia faces social media backlash

The latest episode of the modeling competition GNTM 7 featured a photoshoot on a beach in Euboea, where the 18 contestants acted as their own creative directors, managing styling and props to convey themes of luxury and snobbery. Judges Genevieve Mazari and Lakis Gavalas, alongside photographer Panagiotis Simopoulos, oversaw the session.

Contestant Stavroula Chalkia faced criticism from judges for her use of a telephone prop and received significant backlash on social media. Chalkia expressed frustration with the process, stating, “I don't understand what is happening... I am okay. I cannot become a very bad photo, but I haven't truly shown what I am yet.” She also noted the pressure of being perceived as a high-level model with an established career.

Her comments regarding wealth, specifically stating that “the rich are usually kitsch, so for the result to be kitsch, I am on topic,” triggered intense negative reactions from users on X (formerly Twitter), who questioned her attitude and professional standing.
