GNV and Morocco's ONMT sign strategic tourism partnership
The Italian maritime company GNV, a subsidiary of the MSC Group, has signed a three-year strategic partnership with the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) for the 2027-2029 period. The agreement was formalized during the seventh annual GNV Awards held in Marrakech.
The collaboration aims to boost tourism and maritime connectivity between Italy and Morocco, setting a target to attract 350,000 ferry passengers from the Italian market. To achieve this, the two entities will launch joint promotional campaigns across Italian media, including television, radio, and influencer marketing, as well as digital initiatives on GNV’s mobile app and onboard screens.
The partnership specifically targets travelers interested in road trips, eco-tourism, and 4x4 expeditions, leveraging the ability for passengers to bring their own vehicles. It also supports the annual Marhaba Operation for the Moroccan diaspora.
Alongside this agreement, GNV announced the expansion of its fleet with four new LNG-powered vessels: GNV Jupiter, GNV Mars, GNV Venus, and GNV Mercury. The company reported strong growth for the first nine months of 2026, transporting approximately 2.2 million passengers, a 2% increase compared to the previous year.
