Gönyeli drug investigation leads to arrest of two siblings

Two siblings, identified as E. D. and Y. D., have been remanded in custody following a drug investigation in Gönyeli. The incident began when police patrolling the area discovered a stationary vehicle on the road. Upon inspection, officers found Y. D. unconscious in the passenger seat.

During the search, police recovered a piece of paper suspected to contain drugs from E. D.’s clothing, as well as two cigarette butts mixed with tobacco and suspected narcotics inside the vehicle. Subsequent blood analysis confirmed the presence of synthetic cannabinoid (bonzai) in the suspects' samples.

While a court-ordered search of the suspects' residence in Güzelyurt yielded no illegal items, prosecutors have requested that both individuals remain in custody pending trial.
