Go Ayano reveals transformed look for film ‘mentor’

New visual imagery has been released for the upcoming film ‘mentor’, directed by Keisuke Yoshida and scheduled for release on October 16, 2026. The promotional material features actor Go Ayano in his role as Nomoto, a central figure in the story.

To portray the character, who suffers from extensive burn scarring, Ayano underwent a three-hour special makeup process. The realistic effects were created using a five-part silicone application modeled from a clay cast of the actor's face, covering his neck and hands. Ayano also contributed to the character's design, specifically proposing the unique hairstyle seen in the visuals.

The film stars Hayato Isomura and Seiya Suezawa in dual lead roles. The narrative explores a distorted reunion between two young men whose lives were altered by an apartment fire caused by fireworks, and Nomoto, a man who lost everything in that same blaze.
