Go players hold charity event for Kumamoto earthquake victims

Professional Go players held a charity event at the Nihon Ki-in in Chiyoda, Tokyo, to support those affected by the Reiwa 8 Kumamoto earthquake. The event featured instructional games, public matches, and photo sessions.

Participants included Junshi Tsuruyama 8-dan, a native of Kumamoto, along with Kotaro Fukuoka Hon'inbo and Aiko Ueno Rurui Meijin. Tsuruyama expressed his condolences to the victims and his desire to help his hometown recover after seeing the destruction of homes and Kumamoto Castle. The event aimed to provide encouragement through smiles and energy rather than a somber atmosphere.
