Go Up Entertainment partner refuses to provide documents to Brazilian Federal Police

Michael Davis, the majority partner of Go Up Entertainment LLC, has refused to provide company documents directly to the Brazilian Federal Police (Polícia Federal) regarding the financing of the film ‘Dark Horse’.

In an email sent to producer Karina Ferreira da Gama, Davis stated that, acting on the advice of U.S. lawyers, he does not authorize the transfer of corporate, accounting, fiscal, banking, or contractual documents held in the United States without strict adherence to American due process. He asserted that any requests for information must be formalized through international legal cooperation channels, such as letters rogatory or mutual legal assistance requests.

The Brazilian Federal Police had issued a request on August 19 for various documents to investigate the origin, movement, and final beneficiaries of the funds used to finance the production. The investigation into the film's financing became public following the lifting of secrecy in proceedings related to the ‘Master’ case.
