Goa Government launches AI WhatsApp chatbot for citizen services

The Goa Government has launched an AI-powered WhatsApp chatbot to improve the delivery of citizen services. Developed by the Department of Information Technology, Electronics & Communications (DITE&C) in collaboration with Goa Electronics Limited (GEL), the initiative integrates government services into the WhatsApp platform.

This move builds upon the existing Goa Online portal, which has recorded over 21 lakh requests and more than 9 lakh registered users. By utilizing WhatsApp, the government aims to provide conversational, guided assistance without requiring citizens to download additional applications. IT Minister Rohan Khaunte stated that the goal is to use emerging technologies to ensure the government becomes more accessible and responsive to the people of Goa.
