Goa opens laptop registration for meritorious SC/ST students

The Government of Goa's Department of Information Technology, Electronics & Communications (DITE&C) has opened online registrations for a scheme providing free laptops to meritorious students from Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) communities for the 2025-26 academic year.

Implemented by Info Tech Corporation of Goa Ltd. (ITG), the program is available to Goa-born students who achieved at least 70% aggregate marks in their 10th standard (SSC) examinations. The application window opened on August 4, 2026, and will close on September 2, 2026.

Following the deadline, an ITG scrutiny committee will select the top 10 meritorious students from each taluka, consisting of five boys and five girls from the SC and ST communities. The initiative aims to bridge the digital divide for rural and marginalized youth to support higher education and technical careers.
