Goa to continue legal battle over Mhadei water dispute

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has affirmed that the state will continue its legal battle regarding the Mhadei (Mahadayi) water dispute. This stance follows suggestions from Union Minister Pralhad Joshi that the Karnataka government consider withdrawing its pending Supreme Court cases to expedite the Kalasa-Banduri project.

Sawant stated that Goa’s legal team and the Advocate General are firmly pursuing the matter through both the Supreme Court and the Mahadayi Water Disputes Tribunal. He emphasized that the dispute is a legal issue and expressed confidence in a favorable outcome for the state.
