Goa to create up to 8,000 jobs in next six months

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced that the state government intends to create between 6,000 and 8,000 additional jobs over the next six months. Speaking during Independence Day celebrations, Sawant stated that recruitment across various departments will be conducted through transparent and merit-based processes to provide opportunities for the youth.

In addition to employment, the Chief Minister highlighted several infrastructure developments aimed at improving connectivity. He noted that the Porvorim elevated corridor near Panaji is expected to open to the public before Ganesh Chaturthi, and the foundation stone for a new bridge in Borim, South Goa, will be laid soon.

Sawant also discussed the state's focus on social well-being, noting that Goa is the first Indian state to utilize a happiness index to measure citizen welfare. Furthermore, he mentioned that the traditional theatre form Tiatr has been recognized as the 56th element in India's Intangible Cultural Heritage inventory.
