Goa unveils AI policy and concludes inaugural tech conclave

The state of Goa has launched a three-year AI policy for 2026–2029, aiming to certify 50,000 young people in artificial intelligence by 2030. The roadmap focuses on applied innovation and responsible AI, including the development of a Konkani language model and the deployment of six government-led AI challenges by December 2026.

The policy was announced during the first Goa AI Tech Conclave, a two-day event featuring startup pitches, skill development workshops, and exhibitions from organizations such as Google and Microsoft. Nearly 14 startups across sectors like health tech, clean tech, and SaaS presented ideas to investors.

Following the conclusion of the inaugural event, the Software Technology and Incubation Park of Goa (SITPC) announced that the Goa AI Tech Conclave is scheduled to return in October 2027.
