Goalkeeper Guillermo Viscarra Leaves Alianza Lima by Mutual Agreement
Peruvian club Alianza Lima announced on 20 July 2026 that the contract with Bolivian goalkeeper Guillermo Viscarra was terminated by mutual agreement. The 33‑year‑old keeper, who joined the team in January 2025 and appeared in 49 matches across the domestic league, Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana, lost his starting role after an injury and the emergence of fellow goalkeeper Alejandro Duarte.
Alianza Lima thanked Viscarra on social media, noting his contributions, especially his decisive save against Boca Juniors in the 2025 Libertadores. With his departure the club now has a foreign‑player slot open, and rumors suggest a Chilean defender may be signed. Reports indicate interest from Colombia’s Atlético Nacional and other Bolivian clubs, but his next destination remains unconfirmed.
