Goalkeeper Tjark Ernst faces transfer race as Feyenoord, Celtic and others bid €5 million

Hertha BSC’s 23‑year‑old German goalkeeper Tjark Ernst was rested during a 15‑0 training win, with coach Stefan Leitl explaining, “It was planned that Tjark would not keep today; he is expected to play in the Wednesday match.” Ernst’s contract contains a €5 million release clause.

Both Dutch champions Feyenoord and Scottish side Celtic have declared they are ready to meet the clause, while Borussia Mönchengladbach have also shown interest. Feyenoord are preparing for Champions League competition, and Celtic are targeting European qualification. Hertha hope to keep the keeper, but negotiations remain open as the three clubs vie for his signature.
