Goalkeeper Vozinha Looks for New Club Following World Cup Performances

Goalkeeper Vozinha, a 40‑year‑old veteran of the Zelenortskih Ostrva national team, said his contract with Portuguese second‑division side Deportivo Chaves has ended and that he is now a free agent. He told Brazilian journalist and influencer Daniel Braune that he is open to offers from any club and will see what opportunities arise.

Vozinha highlighted a possible move to Brazil, noting that influencer Casimiro Miguel helped raise his Instagram following from about 50,000 to nearly 16 million. He said, “It would be good. I would love to go, even just to visit and thank the supporters.”

His recent World Cup appearances have drawn attention: a 0‑0 draw with Spain and a 2‑2 draw with Uruguay. He hopes his performances can help Zelenortskih Ostrva advance, adding that a win against Saudi Arabia in Houston would secure a place in the knockout stage. He also cited his childhood idols – Michel Preud'homme, Edwin van der Sar and Gianluigi Buffon – as inspirations.
