Goascorán receives machinery to support local agriculture and roads
The municipality of Goascorán in Valle, Honduras, has received new heavy machinery as part of the first stage of the Municipal Machinery Program. The equipment, which includes backhoes, was delivered in an event led by National Congress President Tomás Zambrano and the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Aníbal Ehrler.
This distribution is part of a national emergency declaration for the road sector approved by Congress in February. The government of President Nasry Asfura has prioritized 81 municipalities in this initial phase to mitigate the impact of the El Niño climate phenomenon and ongoing drought. The machinery is intended to improve road conditions, facilitating the transport of agricultural and livestock products to markets for local producers.
