Goaso fire destroys restaurant and retail shops

A fire outbreak in Goaso, located in the Ahafo Region, has completely destroyed a restaurant, a makeup shop, and a boutique. The businesses were housed within a wooden structure.

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) responded to the emergency on Sunday, October 25. Firefighters arrived to find the three establishments engulfed in flames. Using hose lines, the crew brought the blaze under control by 12:18 PM and fully extinguished it by 1:09 PM. While the businesses and their contents were lost, the timely intervention of the Goaso Municipal Fire Station prevented the fire from spreading to neighboring properties.

Ahafo Regional Fire Commander ACFO II Samuel Ferdie Tetteh and Operations Commander ADO I Samuel Afram visited the site to assess the damage. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
