Goat Farm in Litoměřice Replaces Failed Pension Plan
Zdeněk Hrůz and Pavla Hrůzová turned a stalled pension project into a successful goat farm in the Český středohoří region near Litoměřice, Czech Republic. After purchasing a former cattle barn, they now raise about 110 goats and produce cheese, with daily milk output rising from 13 L at the start to around 70 L. The farm also operates a mini‑dairy, sells goat products at local markets, and collaborates with the Litoměřice Diakonie to employ 15 people from a protected workshop who cannot work full‑time due to health issues.
The couple, originally from Opárna and Velemín, have lived on the farm for 20 years, combining farming with product development and customer outreach. Their cheese production has grown steadily, and they plan to expand the range of goat‑derived goods while maintaining the rural lifestyle they sought.
