Gołębiewski Hotel in Pobierowo opens on June 10, Poland's largest seaside resort

The Gołębiewski Pobierowo resort on the Baltic coast is scheduled to open on June 10. The 13‑storey complex will house around 1,200‑1,240 rooms and accommodate up to about 3,000 guests. Spanning roughly 180,000 sq m, the development includes a football‑field‑size swimming pool, a large water park, spa and wellness facilities, conference halls, two cinema‑theatre rooms, bowling alleys, climbing areas, a nightclub and extensive dining options.

The project has sparked controversy over its impact on the local landscape. Critics point to the clearing of forested areas and the massive scale of the building, arguing it disrupts the natural character of the seaside village of Pobierowo, which has only about 1,000 residents. The resort is seen as a symbol of mass tourism and has faced opposition from environmental groups and local businesses concerned about over‑development.
