Gocław gas explosion destroys home and injures woman

A gas cylinder explosion occurred on the morning of August 26 in Gocław, Poland, causing severe damage to a residential home on 3 Maja Street. The blast, caused by leaking gas, resulted in serious injuries to a 35-year-old woman, who was airlifted to a hospital by the Medical Air Rescue (LPR) service with burns.

Several people were inside the building at the time, including a 58-year-old woman and two children aged 6 and 7. While the other residents did not sustain injuries, the house was heavily damaged and requires reconstruction.

The destroyed property is the family home of a member of the Gocław Volunteer Fire Department (OSP Gocław). In response, fellow firefighters have organized a fundraising campaign to assist the family, aiming to collect 300,000 PLN to cover the significant costs of rebuilding.
