GOCOP to institute Dotun Oladipo Prize for Online Journalism

The Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP) has announced the establishment of the Dotun Oladipo Prize for Online Journalism. The initiative honors the memory of the organization’s former president, who passed away on August 25 at the age of 56.

GOCOP Deputy President Olumide Iyanda announced the prize during a service of songs in Lagos. The award is intended to recognize excellence in Nigerian online journalism and uphold the professional values represented by Oladipo.

Oladipo was a founding member of GOCOP and served as its president from 2017 to 2021. He was also the publisher of The Eagle Online. At the time of his death, he was serving as the chairman of the GOCOP Constitution Review Committee.
