God of War Laufey slated for early 2027 PS5 launch

Sony Interactive Entertainment confirmed that the upcoming PlayStation 5‑exclusive title God of War Laufey is targeted for release in the first quarter of 2027. The game, developed by Santa Monica Studio, will continue the saga by focusing on Laufey, the mother of Atreus, and will not be released on PC, as affirmed by Sony.

Industry analyst Jason Schreier suggested the announcement could arrive as early as February or March, possibly during a State of Play broadcast, Gamescom 2026 opening night, or the Tokyo Game Show. The game follows the 2026 State of Play reveal of a full God of War trilogy remake, underscoring Sony’s strategy to expand the franchise on its next‑gen console.
