GoDaddy, Google, and Cloudflare unveil AI agent trust system
A coalition including GoDaddy, Infoblox, Google, and Cloudflare has demonstrated the ‘Chain of Trust,’ an open reference architecture designed to verify the identity of AI agents during transactions. Unveiled at GovWare 2026 in Singapore in partnership with the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), the system aims to allow organizations to discover, identify, and authenticate AI agents across different platforms using existing open internet standards rather than proprietary vendor systems.
The demonstration simulated a flight purchase from Madrid to Singapore between agents that had never previously interacted. The buyer agent operated on Amazon Web Services, the seller agent on Cloudflare Workers, and the mandate and verifier agents on Google Cloud. The process utilized various protocols for identity, communication, and mandate verification, successfully blocking rogue scenarios such as forged credentials and look-alike sellers.
While the technical handshake and security layers were validated, the demonstration’s payment layer operated in Stripe’s test mode, meaning no real capital was moved. The architecture is built on principles from IMDA’s Model AI Governance Framework for Agentic AI.
