Gołdap launches initiative to combat peer violence and cyberbullying
In Gołdap, Poland, the Peer Violence Prevention Week has launched to address aggression among youth and in digital spaces. A central event, the ‘STOP HEJT’ march, brought together residents, students, and local police officers through the Municipal Park to protest hate speech and cyberbullying.
Local police are participating in the initiative not only to maintain order but to provide education on recognizing violence and accessing support. The program aims to foster a culture of respect and responsibility within the community.
This local initiative coincides with broader awareness regarding the International Day of Non-Violence, observed annually on October 2. Discussions emphasize that modern violence often manifests through psychological manipulation, social exclusion, and online harassment, requiring active community vigilance and the use of support resources like the National Crisis Helpline.
