Godflesh announces penultimate album ‘Decay’

Industrial metal pioneers Godflesh have announced their tenth and penultimate studio album, titled ‘Decay’, scheduled for release on September 25, 2026, via Relapse Records. The announcement comes alongside the release of the first single, ‘Living/Ending’.

Mastermind Justin Broadrick and bassist Ben Green noted that the material for ‘Decay’ originated from the same sessions as their previous album, ‘Purge’. Broadrick explained that while the songs were initially intended for release shortly after ‘Purge’, the process of finding a suitable label and refining the recordings resulted in a two-year delay.

Broadrick emphasized the importance of creative self-discipline in the project, stating, “Music is for me rarely complete, but it has to reach a point where enough is enough. Creatively, there has to be self-discipline. One has to end it.”
