Godflesh announces penultimate album ‘Decay’ and new single

British industrial metal duo Godflesh has announced their penultimate studio album, titled ‘Decay’, which is scheduled for release on September 25, 2026, via Relapse Records. To preview the upcoming work, the group released the single ‘Living/Ending’.

Justin Broadrick, the group's founder, indicated that this release signals the approaching end of Godflesh's active era. Broadrick cited the need for creative self-discipline and physical limitations following a major abdominal surgery for a hernia. He noted that the physical strain of his characteristic vocal style contributed to the injury. While the recordings for ‘Decay’ were completed before his surgery, the mixing process took place during his recovery.

Formed in 1988, Godflesh is recognized as a foundational influence in industrial metal. The material for ‘Decay’ was developed during the same sessions as their 2023 album, ‘Purge’.
