Godiego celebrates 50th anniversary with new music and special event

The Japanese rock band Godiego is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a new single and a special commemorative event. The band announced the digital release of “My Dear / My Dear” on November 11, 2026, marking their first new song in 11 years. The track features lyrics by Elvis Woodstock (Lily Franky) and was co-produced by Seiji Kameda.

The single serves as a precursor to the “Godiego 50th Anniversary EP -Christmas-,” which is scheduled for physical release on December 16, 2026. This release will be accompanied by a two-disc set including a “Shin-Mix” best-of album.

To mark the milestone, the band held the “Godiego FEST 2026” in Tokyo. The event featured collaborations with various artists, including EXILE B HAPPY, guitarist Char, and music producer Seiji Kameda. A notable highlight included a duet with Masaki Sakai, the star of the “Saiyuki” drama, during a performance of the hit song “Gandhara.”
