Godolphin dominates British Champions Day at Ascot

Godolphin achieved a dominant performance at Ascot during British Champions Day, securing multiple Group 1 victories. The highlight was Ombudsman, the 5-4 favourite, winning the Group 1 Qatar Racing Champion Stakes. Trained by John and Thady Gosden and ridden by William Buick, Ombudsman defeated Calandagan by three and three-quarter lengths.

Godolphin also secured a win in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes with Talk Of New York, trained by Charlie Appleby. Other notable results included Minnie Hauk winning the Group 1 British Champions Fillies and Mares Stakes for trainer Aidan O'Brien, and Mount Atlas delivering a 33-1 upset in the British Champions Long Distance Cup for trainer Andrew Balding.

Following the Champion Stakes victory, trainer John Gosden noted that Ombudsman might retire to stud or potentially compete in the Breeders' Cup Turf at Keeneland.
