Godoy Cruz advances high-voltage electrical grid project

The Municipality of Godoy Cruz and the Province are advancing the ‘Proyecto Vínculo’, an electrical infrastructure initiative designed to transform the high-voltage network. The project aims to benefit more than 118,000 users across three departments by increasing network capacity and reducing the risk of power outages caused by system overexertion.

The work, officially titled ‘Vinculación CS 132 kV de ET Villa Hipódromo con ET Godoy Cruz’, includes the repowering of the Villa Hipódromo Transformer Station with a third transformation field. Additionally, a new Transformer Station, Puente Olive, will be constructed to expand power supply outputs. A key component is the installation of a 132 kV underground high-voltage cable to provide a redundant power supply route and minimize service interruptions.
