Godoy Cruz municipal solar park generates 8 million pesos in savings
The Godoy Cruz municipal solar park has completed its first month of operations, producing 62,344 kWh (62.3 MWh) between July 27 and August 26. This production resulted in an estimated saving of 8 million pesos for the local government.
The facility, which utilizes 1,024 photovoltaic solar panels, operates under a Point of Sole Injection (PSI) model. This allows the energy to be injected into the departmental electrical grid and subsequently distributed to 45 different municipal buildings and facilities through a credit compensation mechanism.
During the reporting period, the plant maintained a daily average generation of 2,011 kWh and reached a peak power of 418 kW. The total energy generated is estimated to be equivalent to the monthly consumption of approximately 300 households in Mendoza.
