Godoy Cruz: Woman injured by kitchen oven fire

A 23-year-old woman sustained burns to her back and arms after her clothing caught fire in a residence in Godoy Cruz, Argentina. The incident occurred on Monday afternoon at a home on Talcahuano Street.

Initial emergency calls to 911 reported a possible water heater explosion, but police arriving at the scene determined that no explosion had occurred. Instead, the victim reportedly passed close to a kitchen oven that was missing its door, causing her clothing to ignite.

Medical personnel from the Servicio de Emergencias Coordinado (SEC) treated the woman at the scene before transferring her to Hospital Lagomaggiore for further care. Firefighters and technicians from Ecogas inspected the gas installations as a precaution, and the Godoy Cruz Fiscal Office is investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
