Godrej Consumer Products opens new facility in Indonesia
Godrej Consumer Products Indonesia (GCPI), a subsidiary of India-based Godrej Consumer Products Limited (GCPL), has inaugurated the first phase of a new manufacturing facility in the Kendal Special Economic Zone. The project is part of an IDR 500 billion (approximately INR 250 crore) investment aimed at strengthening the company’s manufacturing footprint in Indonesia.
The initial phase covers 2.5 hectares of a 5.5-hectare site and is dedicated to the production of household insecticides. This facility is intended to serve both the domestic Indonesian market and export markets.
GCPI has maintained a presence in Indonesia since 2010, during which time the business has grown 4.5 times. The company’s brands, including HIT, Stella, Mitu, and NYU, currently reach approximately one in four Indonesian households. The inauguration was attended by various officials, including the Ambassador of India to Indonesia and representatives from Indonesia’s Ministry of Investment and Downstream Industry/BKPM.
