Godshill Model Village removes topless streaker after family complaints

Godshill Model Village on the Isle of Wight has taken down a miniature figurine of a topless streaker from its model football pitch. The figure, which had been part of the attraction for many years as a light‑hearted nod to 1970s‑80s football streaking, was removed after a small number of visitors complained it was inappropriate for a family‑friendly site.

Director Penny Dyer said the decision was made after considering the feedback, noting that “streaking was very much a feature of a different era” and that today’s younger visitors may not recognise the reference. While some regular visitors, such as local Rupert Willoughby, expressed dismay at the removal, the attraction’s management said the priority is ensuring all guests feel comfortable.
