Godzilla Minus Zero set for November release and IMAX debut

Toho has announced the release details for ‘Godzilla Minus Zero’, the sequel to the Academy Award-winning ‘Godzilla Minus One’. Directed by Takashi Yamazaki, who also serves as screenwriter and visual effects supervisor, the film is set to premiere in Japanese theaters on November 3, 2026. Following this, Toho and GKIDS will release the film in the United States and Canada on November 6, 2026, with a Spanish release scheduled for November 6.

In a franchise milestone, ‘Godzilla Minus Zero’ will be the first Japanese feature film produced specifically for IMAX, utilizing 1:1.43 and 1:1.90 aspect ratios. A new behind-the-scenes teaser highlights the production process, which combines traditional tokusatsu techniques with modern visual effects provided by SHIROGUMI Inc. and ROBOT.

Returning cast members include Ryunosuke Kamiki, Minami Hamabe, Hidetaka Yoshioka, and Yuki Yamada. The production features extensive filming across various locations in Japan and utilizes large-scale practical replicas and intricate mechanical systems for action sequences.
