GoFundMe Raises $10,000 for Afghan Well in Memory of Pleasanton Accident Victim

Elham Ahmad Waziri died after being ejected from a Jeep during a series of rapid turns on June 20 in the 5300 block of Owens Court in Pleasanton, California. Police responded to the scene, provided life‑saving measures, and transported Waziri to Eden Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The driver remained at the scene and the incident is under investigation, with the case to be reviewed by the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office.

A GoFundMe campaign created to honor Waziri has collected more than $10,000 from over 60 donors. The fundraiser aims to build a 250‑meter‑deep well near a school in Kabul, Afghanistan, supplying clean water to roughly 13,000 students, a hospital, a mosque and the surrounding community.
