GOG.com refunds player over missing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 multiplayer mode

GOG.com has issued a refund to a player for the game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl due to the developer's failure to deliver a promised multiplayer mode. Although the studio, GSC Game World, indicated that work on the multiplayer update is ongoing, they have been unable to provide a specific release date.

The refund follows a consumer complaint regarding the discrepancy between the advertised product and the actual content delivered. While GOG.com initially cited its 30-day voluntary return policy, the consumer's claim was based on legal rights regarding digital content non-conformity with contracts, as established by EU Directive 2019/770 and local consumer protection laws.
