Brazilian Série D quarter-finals begin with battles for promotion
The quarter-finals of the Brazilian Série D have commenced, with clubs competing for promotion to Série C.
In the opening matches, ABC secured a 2-1 away victory against Nacional-AM in Manaus, thanks to two goals from Luiz Fernando. Uberlândia also won 1-0 against CSA.
Gama and São José-RS played to a 1-1 draw, while Goiatuba and ASA-AL finished their first leg in a 0-0 stalemate.
Decisive second-leg matches are scheduled for mid-August to determine which teams will advance to the semifinals and secure their spots in the third division.
