Goiânia attracts international tourists from 12 countries

A recent tourism demand survey conducted in July shows an increasing presence of international visitors in Goiânia, Brazil. According to data released by the Municipal Agency for Tourism and Events (GoiâniaTur), foreign residents accounted for 5.93% of the 354 people interviewed at key locations, including the International Airport, the Bus Terminal, and the Zoo.

Visitors originated from 12 different countries across America, Europe, and Oceania. The United States led the group with 1.98% of the sample, followed by Argentina at 0.85%. Other represented nations included Germany, Australia, Belgium, Colombia, Spain, France, England, Portugal, and Switzerland.

Vinícius Gomes, president of GoiâniaTur, noted that major international events, such as the MotoGP Brazil Grand Prix, help place the city on the global radar. The survey is part of an annual plan by the Goiânia Tourism Observatory to conduct 1,500 interviews throughout the year to inform public policy and monitor tourism trends.
