Goiânia celebrates 93rd anniversary with Viva Goiânia Festival

Goiânia is celebrating its 93rd anniversary with the Viva Goiânia Festival, a large-scale event featuring free cultural, sporting, and health services. The festivities include musical performances by artists such as Seu Jorge, Murilo Huff, Zeca Baleiro, and Sandra Sá. The main celebrations are centered on Avenida Goiás, between Rua 55 and the Estação Ferroviária, running from 9:00 to midnight.

To accommodate the festival, local authorities have implemented 20 traffic blockade points in the city center, affecting Avenida Goiás and Avenida Independência. The event also serves as a community gathering with activities ranging from children's theater and circus arts to sports tournaments and animal adoption fairs.

In addition to the anniversary celebrations, the region has seen various community events, including a luxury car parade in Goiânia that raised food donations for local neighborhoods and the Goianá Bike Fest, which drew hundreds of cyclists to the nearby municipality.
