Goiânia City Hall launches online complaint platform, ends phone 161 service

The municipal government of Goiânia has introduced a new online system for registering and tracking citizen complaints. The platform, hosted on the city's official website, generates a protocol number for each submission and allows users to monitor the progress of their reports in real time while preserving anonymity.

The change eliminates the former telephone hotline (161), which will be discontinued. The municipality says the digital tool improves transparency, reduces information loss, and helps the Secretaria Municipal de Eficiência plan inspection and public service actions. Secretary of Efficiency Fernando Peternella noted, "Each request will have electronic tracking from protocol to analysis, allowing greater control of information and more efficiency in forwarding the demands." Citizens without internet access can still file complaints in person at the Municipal Ombudsman office.
